Cocomino™ Glossing Shampoo is formulated with both scalp and hair in mind. A sulfate-free, color-safe blend of coconut-based surfactants creates a gentle, creamy foam that effectively lifts dirt, styling products, and other substances without damaging the hair shaft or stripping color.
Soothing and strengthening amino acids and extracts help prevent water loss and add smoothness and shine while acting as a heat protectant for hair. Antioxidant-and fatty acid-rich oils such as sacha inchi seed, along with marula and argan, add moisture without weighing hair down. A multi-amino-acid blend adds strength, improves manageability, and gives hair a healthier appearance with visible body and bounce. Panthenol and sodium PCA help boost water content and prevent dehydration. Cocomino™ Glossing Shampoo has a pH of 5.5.
No sulfates (or any harsh surfactants) here! That means a gentle, low-foam cleanse that’s safe for color-treated hair and won’t strip or rob your hair of its natural shine but will help reboot your scalp and strands by washing away styling-product buildup. We left out the artificial thickeners, too, which means our Cocomino™ Shampoo has a lightweight liquid feel, and a little goes a long way.
Cocomino™ Glossing Shampoo contains a blend of moisturizing sweet almond oil and almond extract, which gives this formula a naturally sweet almond scent that dissipates quickly. If it’s not sudsy enough, rewet the hair and lather it up.
For 30 years, celebrity hairstylist Chris McMillan has worked with every recognizable head of hair in Hollywood. But he could never find a product to do what he wanted: bring hair back to its strongest, healthiest state. So he collaborated with his childhood friend who also happens to be the founder of Drunk Elephant. Together they created a line of hair care that focuses on the scalp—products that dissolve years of buildup while nourishing hair with coconut-based cleansers and shine-boosting amino acids. The rest just grew from there.
100% free of sulfates, silicones, essential oils, fragrance, dyes, and drying alcohols. Cruelty-free.

Sacha Inchi Seed Oil Extracted from the seeds of the sacha inchi fruit, this oil is used for its potential to moisturize and soothe irritated skin. These benefits are attributed to the high concentration of antioxidant polyphenols, omega 6 (aka linoleic) and omega 3 (linolenic) fatty acids that sacha inchi seed oil contains. In haircare, sacha inchi oil adds shine and helps offset the damage done by heat styling due to its ability to both coat and partially penetrate the hair shaft.
Panthenol Also known as pro-vitamin B5, it is used as a powerful hydrating ingredient that helps smooth, soften, and strengthen the hair shaft.
Coconut Amino Acid Blend Gentle, fatty-acid-rich coconut-based surfactants work together to create a gentle, creamy foam that effectively lifts dirt, styling products, and other substances away without damaging or stripping color, while quick-absorbing amino acids add strength and improved manageability, giving hair a healthier, glossy appearance with visible body and bounce.
Polyquaternium-10 Lightweight, flexible and frizz-fighting conditioning agent that bonds to hair between shampoos.
Polyquaternium-7 Conditioning agent that detangles, smooths, adds shine and fights frizz.
Argan Oil Mainly a source of lipids and fatty acids—particularly omega 6 (aka linoleic) and omega 9 (oleic)—argan oil has a richer texture, making it particularly beneficial for moisturizing skin and hair. In hair care, argan coats the shaft, providing shine while helping to condition and resist the damage caused by heat-styling tools.
Marula Oil This super-absorbable oil, high in critical antioxidants and omegas 6 and 9, helps moisturize, add shine, and smooth the hair shaft.

The Drunk Elephant Difference
We are committed to using only ingredients that either directly benefit the health of the skin or support the integrity of our formulations. We never take into account whether something is synthetic or natural, instead choosing ingredients based on biocompatibility. That’s why we focus on healthy pH levels, formulations the skin recognizes, small molecular structure that’s easily absorbed, and effective active ingredients that also support and maintain the skin’s acid mantle. But what we leave out of our products is just as important as what we put into them, so you will never find what we call the Suspicious 6™ (essential oils, drying alcohols, silicones, chemical sunscreens, fragrances/dyes, SLS) in our line. We believe that these six ubiquitous ingredients are at the root of almost every skin issue, and when they’re removed entirely from your routine—that is, when you take a Drunk Break™—skin can reset and return to its healthiest, most balanced state. This ingredient-elimination diet benefits all skin types and inspired the #barewithus🐘 Instagram movement, a collection of bare-faced selfies that chronicles the Drunk Elephant journeys of people who have found not only healthier skin but more importantly, healthier self-confidence.
